Lesson from Davos: Collaborate to innovate

Manufacturers must embrace new models of collaboration to capitalize on the opportunities of globalization, according to B.G.Srinivas, Senior VP, Manufacturing, Infosys. He shares his perspective on ‘Collaborative Innovation’, the theme of the World Economic Forum 2008, in an article published in Mbtmag.com.

Srinivas believes a transition from collaboration to collaborative innovation is required for manufacturers to remain globally competitive. Companies must orchestrate an open innovation network with partners and suppliers by leveraging tools based on Web 2.0 and social networking technologies.

According to Srinivas, collaboration technologies enable co-creation and accelerate innovation by facilitating a seamless transfer of knowledge across communities and the enterprise.
